The series stars Fess Parker as the real frontiersman Davy Crockett and Buddy Ebsen as his friend George Russell. Starting in 1955. The series song sung by Fess Parker was a big hit and this series is what started the coon skin cap craze with all the youngsters that still is going strong today!
